Who Are They?
Momo I Am, has started their latest venture at RDB Boulevard, Salt Lake, Kolkata with their alibi “Cafe I Am”.
The restaurant has a larger setting than all the Momo I Am chains in the city. And they are the hotspot to be in.
Get amused by the Japanese Inspired Decor, Live Mocktail Counter and Open Kitchen in their new branch. They have gone all out with the zone this time.
What’s In The Menu?
Now obviously they have a lovely array of food in the menu and I couldn’t eat all of them. So I went with a few crowd pleasers and some adventure spirit of my own.
Starting with the Mocktails, I had ordered a Soho La and A Kill Bill.
The Soho La is a light, summery drink which includes Pineapple Juice, Mashed Cucumbers, Lime and Mint.
The Kill Bill was obviously inspired from the Quentin Tarantino movie, starring Uma Thurman. The drink has a kick of breeze in it too. Made with Mashed Banana, Passion Fruit Syrup, Young Coconut Water and other goodness, this drink is a go to for everyone who has been to the restaurant before.
The Menu had an amazing spread of Dimsums, which I took a repeat order of.
I had ordered The Xiao Long Bao and The Pork And Chive Dimsum with Chilli Bean Oil.
The Xiao Long Bao is a Soup Dumpling which is very Instagram Worthy and you cannot skip taking a boomerang of it when you break into it.
The Pork and Chive Dimsum With Chilli Bean Oil is another lovely dish which comes layered on a bed of their house special sauce. The sauce is spicy and the outer layer of the Dimsum is made of Rice flour. A very unique dish to indulge in.
I also happened to stumble upon a wide range of Sushi. Although the menu offered cooked meat and vegetarian options I didn’t hesitate to get indulged into the Tempura Prawn Sushi and The Avocado, Asparagus and Cream Cheese Sushi.
The Tempura Prawn Sushi is my personally recommended dish. The Prawn is wrapped in Rice and is accompanied with Light Soy Sauce, Pickled Veggies and A side of Wasabi.
The Avocado, Asparagus and Cream Cheese Sushi is a Vegetarian Option and I couldn’t say that it was a bad choice. The burst of Cream Cheese was unfathomable and I cannot get over the taste. Wrapped in Sea weed Nori, the dish is quite picturesque and a nice deal for the vegetarians to indulge into if they want to try Asian food.
Even if they have a live mocktail counter, they do serve alcohol on the weekends with a live DJ setup.
